WELCOME TO PARKER TRANSPORT
Parker Transport is a successful and high performing family run company based in the South West, with a reputation built up over 40 years for delivering a service based on quality and attention to detail. We operate a fleet of high specification vehicles ranging from vans to 44 tonne articulated trucks providing haulage throughout the UK and Europe and offer a variety of services including long distance delivery, truck mounted forklift delivery, full loads, part loads or groupage, backloads and network distribution.
We provide storage and distribution services from several facilities, with around 50,000 square feet of racked, ambient warehouse space ideal for temporary storage, cross docking or transhipment.
Through use of our industry leading Transport Management System allowing detailed load planning and route optimization keeping your delivery on track from start to finish.
With a team of 40 people, Parker Transport is committed to offering a first class service to all clients, working in close collaboration with them to provide reliable and cost-effective delivery solutions to their own business requirements. OUR HISTORY
When the Midsomer Norton company Kelvin Parker worked for ceased trading, every driver was made redundant but was also offered the opportunity to purchase one of the company’s vehicles. Kelvin was the only driver to accept this offer and he invested £250 in a Leyland flatbed truck and the company now known as Parker Transport slowly started to grow.
From a modest start, having just one vehicle in 1980 and operating from a garden shed office in Chilcompton, the company expanded into a portacabin and then later, with the help of Kelvin’s brother who joined in in 1987, the company relocated to Westfield.
Parker Transport started in premises at one end of the Westfield trading estate, and then gradually moved to larger sites along the estate until the company purchased the building that they occupy to this day.
The business has seen considerable growth from a customer base both locally in Midsomer Norton and in the South West. The small fleet of flatbeds has grown into a premium fleet of vehicles that have won an array of prestigious awards at Truck Shows across the country, including Peterborough, Scotland and the South West.
The 2022 acquisition of Parker Transport by Stotts Group heralds an exciting future for the company and provides new opportunities for the business to flourish for many years to come.
